I will be undertaking a trip of a lifetime, which is; to ride from
See
This will be a similar type of trip to that of the one on the BBC series of “long Way Down”
however mine will not have the problem of sticking to a strict schedule. Instead I wish to almost “meander” my way down, stop where I want and see whatever interests me. The only snag about this is the time it will take… However, personally this is not an issue for me, it’s either do this for a year or spend that year working on a career, of which I can do when I get back!
Plus, as I want to work in the development economics field, this journey will give me essential knowledge to succeed.
I don’t need to tell you about how life changing and incredible this will be.
It will change my life, but more importantly others that I come into contact with.
However, I can’t do this alone for many obvious reasons.
I will be very professional about this, investing in a top of the range BMW R 1200 GS Adventurer
Including satellite navigational systems and many other objects to ensure complete safety on this trip of a lifetime.
I plan to do a trail run across
I expect to do this in mid 2009, at the latest early 2010 depending on my efforts to save money and buy all the necessary equipment.
I am currently in the early stages of planning, nothing is final, but I FULLY intend to do this.
This is an advertisement for another rider… or two! That wishes to do this with me.
Please feel free to get in touch if you want to ask me about this epic journey, my reasons for doing it, or especially if you are interested in joining me.
I will post information about my plans as soon as they develop.

“I will make a difference and leave a lasting impact on the world” (David Haynes)
This is a completely legitimate claim for a person to make. It is possible to influence the life of somebody located the other side of the globe or even somebody well into the future. This idea is nothing new; there are many examples of individuals achieving this in the past with unorthodox, radical and outside of the box thinking.
1828 the world was believed to be flat…
Columbus disagreed:
Leonardo da Vinci who lived between 1452 and1519 design for a Flying Machine:
He failed to make it actually fly because it was too heavy… but you can’t argue the fact that he was onto something. Just imagine if he got it too work in 1500, The 1st Powered flight was 400 years after this…. In 1903!
These two men, Columbus and da Vinci were both genius’ however they had many doubters in their respective time periods, nevertheless they went against common belief and diversified away from the norm and actually changed the world.
True, individuals such as this were often labelled as ‘crazy’ and in some cases that turned out to be true! However, they were not crazy for believing in them selves and neither are you. Do other people have the right to tell you what you believe is rubbish?
And that is what I will argue as the only issue stopping you from achieving anything right up to and including changing the world, the fact that you’re afraid; afraid of ridicule, failure and the opinions of others.
To make a significant difference only requires you to overcome this simple issue.
There are key aspects that will ultimately determine whether you are cut out to make a difference:
The strength of ‘defiantness of purpose’ is a immense one, if you are not familiar with this it is basically saying if you want to achieve something, whatever it is, you probably will. Regardless of the magnitude, whether its to go out and buy yourself a new coat or computer game, or something bigger like getting a degree or a job.. If you have enough desire the door between you and your greatest dreams is unlocked and if you look from a different angle, you will actually find it’s ajar and all you need to do is walk through it!
Think of this as a vehicle; the choice of dream ultimately determines the direction you head (in your life), the desire is your engine that powers you towards it, but you need something to ride in; a ‘body’ or a ‘shell’ and that is your determination, this protects you against ANY obstacles that may arise if your determination is great enough.
Also,
If you see something as a problem, solve it!
You can!
If there is a problem there is almost certainly a solution out there. Often the simplest solution is also the most effective regardless of the scale.
Take for example, what would you do if you were hungry, how do you solve that predicament? You eat something! EASY.
This is the same regardless of the scale of the problem, if a million people are hungry the solution is still the same, they still need feeding!
I am personally very concerned with the economic situation that sub-Saharan
Over the next few years I will keep you updated in my attempt to save millions of lives and help to solve poverty and absolute hunger.
(If you would like more information on me, see the ‘about me’ section on my main page or message me). But that is a sub plot, the issue is that you can change the world simply if you want to enough!
I personally believe I will change the world…
I will stalwartly defend that claim.
I have a desire, a dynamic plan that is both definite in what it hopes to achieve however flexible in its process.
And I pity the person who doesn’t believe I can, simply because it probably reflects the fact that they don’t believe they can personally make a difference.
Please discuss, Rip apart or agree!
Are some people just destined to be average?
I don’t believe this is an over simple theory and anything is really this easy to achieve, do you, if not, why?
Think about it…
Any and all comments appreciated greatly!
